Glorious:

The bells at Provost Umphrey Stadium, which are rung after the Cardinals score a touchdown or field goal, were originally added to the game day experience in 1967.

We introduce to you Glorious. This premium sparkling wine – meticulously and artfully made in the traditional champagne method – rivals anything found from the best Champagne houses in Épernay and Reims. Blended superbly from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this magnificent Napa Valley Brut exhibits rich fruit aromatics of strawberry and delicate white cherry that follows through to a creamy mid-palate accompanied with highlights of lime and wet minerality and a lingering vibrant finish.

Golden Triangle:

The Golden Triangle is an area of Southeast Texas between the cities of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange. The “golden” refers to the wealth that came from the Spindletop oil strike in Beaumont in 1901, and more recently from the many gas flares located at all of the local oil refineries, which create a rough triangular shape around the area when viewed from nighttime aircraft.

We introduce to you Golden Triangle. From the chalky soil of the Carneros region in southern Napa Valley, this gem exhibits lush green apple and bright grapefruit notes while dancing across your palate. This stunning wine is light and friendly with very subtle vanilla and pear blossom hints on the nose. Balanced fruit with tarte acidity makes this wine a classic example of Premium Napa Chardonnay.

Gladys City:

Gladys City found fame as an early 1900s-era Texas boomtown on the Spindletop oil field where, on Jan. 10, 1901, the Lucas Gusher blew. The vast amount of oil found made it possible to use oil as an efficient and inexpensive fuel, propelling the world into the 20th century. Today, the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum at Lamar University commemorates this discovery with a 15-building complex open to the public year-round.

We introduce you to Gladys City. Our Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County experiences a lengthy and cool growing season that is similar to the climate of the Burgundy region of east-central France. Unlike Burgundy, our Pinot Noir experiences dense fog that rolls in off the Pacific Ocean; this fog contributes to the ideal climate for Pinot Noir, offering just enough moisture to be beneficial without lingering too long.

Gladys City has aromas of cherries, raspberries, blackberries, and brown sugar with notes of baking spices. On the palate, the wine opens with bright, fruit flavors of strawberries, leading to a round mouthfeel on the mid-palate and soft, velvety tannins on a long, elegant finish.

Billy Tubbs:

A coaching legend in college basketball, Billy Tubbs won more than 640 games during his career, including 121 of those at Lamar University. He became a mainstay in the postseason, with an 18-12 (.600) NCAA tournament record and an 11-6 (.647) mark in the NIT. Tubbs put LU in the national spotlight guiding the team to three conference titles, two NCAA appearances and the 1980 Sweet 16. A seven-time coach of the year, Tubbs coached 11 different teams to the NCAA Championships including five Sweet 16s and the 1988 NCAA runner-up.

This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.

Cardinal:

The Lamar Cardinals were born in 1932 as a part of an initiative established by Judge J.M. Combs to transform South Park Junior College to Lamar. Then coach and athletics director John Gray changed the mascot from the Brahmas to the Cardinals to signify this new beginning. The story goes that the Cardinals were chosen because it was also a certain midwestern baseball team’s mascot of whom Gray was a fan, and the professional team physically closest to Beaumont, Texas.

We introduce you to Cardinal. This flagship Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic representation of the appellation’s preeminent varietal. Notes of black cherry, blackberry and plum are complemented by hits of toasted oak, dried currant and baking spice. Fine-grained tannins and ample brightness on the palate give way to a polished mouthfeel and exceptionally long finish.

Fairwinds 2021 Rosé of Cabernet:

Our Rose of Cabernet 2021 hails from the Russian River Valley, offering a delightful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in rosé form.
